Attorney

Linda Reed Haase, JD, MA
Cooperative Attorney, Mediator

Linda has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1981 and has practiced family law in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson Counties since 1984. Linda received her Bachelor's Degree and earned her Phi Beta Kappa key at the University of Oregon. She received her Master's Degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Oregon State University in 1973 and did a post-master's Degree study in Child Development/Psychology and Family focusing on child psychology, particularly attachment.

She taught at the college and junior college level and decided the best way to have an impact on families was one-to-one representation in the legal system during transitions in their lives. She earned her law degree from the University of Oregon in 1981. After passing the bar, she practiced family law in Eugene, Oregon with the firm Sahlstrom and Dugdale before she moved to eastern Oregon, where she practiced as a sole practitioner in Grant County. In 1984, she moved to Bend, where she was a sole practitioner before joining the Bend firm Babb, Avedovech, Erwin and Haase as a partner. In 1994 she again became a sole practitioner until joining forces with Bethany Groener as Bend Family Law in 2007.

Linda has been trained as a mediator by Central Oregon Mediation and she serves on the Deschutes County Arbitration Panel for court ordered arbitration. She was one of the earliest female lawyers to practice in Bend and has been a long-term member of the Central Oregon Matrimonial Lawyers.

As a family law practitioner and trial attorney for 26 years and a former teacher of developmental psychology, Linda has a commitment to the well-being of children and families. She cares not only about their emotional well-being, but about their financial well-being as well. In an effort to better serve the needs of families, she offers cooperative practice, uncontested one-party representation, mediation, and arbitration as well as traditional representation in the adversarial system.
